MEKONG DELTA CRUISE FROM SAIGON – CAN THO – PHNOM PENH 5 DAYS

DAY 1 : HOCHIMINH CITY ARRIVAL – CITY TOUR (L/D)

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, transfer to the hotel then start an orientation drive for a city tour to The Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Reunification Palace and Ben Thanh Market. # Mekong Delta Cruise

Dinner and overnight stay in Hochiminh City.

DAY 2 : HOCHIMINH CITY – CAI BE – CAN THO  (L/D)

7.30 am. Depart from your hotel in Sai Gon, we will bring you all the way to Cai Be to embark on the boat and start your cruise on the Mekong River on Bassac Mekong Delta Cruise. Around 10.30 am. Boarding at Cai Be. Welcome drink introduction to the ship and crew, check into the cabins. (Vinh Trang pagoda will be a stopover if the time is available).

Departure towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Lunch while en route. Rest on the deck. The cruise is slipped into the Chợ Lách canal, in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water. By mid-afternoon, the Bassac casts anchor for a visit onshore. 

Be it on foot or by bicycle, be ready to discover a village in the delta while appreciating its peaceful scenery and life with simplicity. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the cruise is cruising the Mang Thit river. DAY 3: TRA ON – CAN THO – COUNTRYSIDE (B/L/D)

The boat departs around 6 am towards Can Tho, and you will arrive near Ninh Kieu pier around 7.30 am, to embark on our local boat. Breakfast will be served on the boat. Start your day with a visit to Cai Rang Floating Market. # Mekong Delta Cruise

7.30 am. As you arrive, you will be astonished by the number of boats sailing around and trading a variety of products.

Enjoy a hot Vietnamese coffee prepared by some local sellers on their boats and delicious fresh fruit.

Don’t miss the local homemade rice noodle workshop and its amazing Noodle Pizza! There, you will learn to make traditional noodles, ready to give a hand?

10.30 am. Check-in the Homestay/Resort is located deep in the countryside surrounding Can Tho city. 

After an authentic and hearty lunch, get ready for some exercise!

Join the kayaking trip in magnificent jungle tributaries, and enjoy a relaxing moment paddling under the shade of coconut trees along the riverbank. 

Finally, get on your bike for the last ride, cycling through a picturesque village, to get an insight into how life goes in this part of the country and stop at a local Dragon Fruit farm, to see how farmers’ life looks like.

Day 4 : CAN THO – TRA SU – CHAU DOC (B/L/D)

After breakfast at the hotel, at 7.30 am, drive from Can Tho to Chau Doc (around 3 hours by car).  At appx. 10:30 am, start exploring the charming beauty of Tra Su Forest. Immerse yourself in the wonderful nature of the forest with green duckweed on the water’s surface as well as flocks of birds perched on Cajuput, and other animals. First, we will take the local speedboat, cruising along small canals, and then we will embark on a traditional rowing Sampan, and we will go through the peaceful and mysterious forest. What a fantastic feeling! From high towers overlooking the forest, you will be able to observe all the wildlife of this amazing place and watch all the local creatures come and go.

Then, visit Chau Doc Market and Pagodas. After your lunch, go ahead to Chau Doc Downtown, to visit the traditional Trading Market, and experience lots of interesting things!

Besides that, your guide will give you more pieces of information about the amazing history of the region, and you will visit some of the most beautiful pagodas in the region! There you will have an amazing overview of the whole town and region. # Mekong Delta Cruise

In the late afternoon, check into your hotel in Chau Doc. Enjoy a good rest before starting a new route in the Mekong Delta.

Day 5 CHAU DOC – PHNOM PENH (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be guided to check in the speedboat departing for Phnom Penh. It takes you almost 6 hours to arrive in Phnom Penh including the tiem for visa application at the border. (Please prepare your 4 passport photo sizes and $35 USD in cash for the visa entry to Cambodia for a month).
